 The Hopewell Site

The farm of Captain Hopewell held another major discover. Over 30 mounds were found with the largest rising 23 feet. the site had about 150 burials. The people of Hopewell had similarities to the Adena people except their work seemed to be bigger and better. There are clusters of 20 to 30 mounds all enclosed in an area of roughly a quarter of a mile.

More evidence to supporting a connection between the mound builders and the Aztecs was found when an engineer claimed that Hopewell sites and Aztec sites were built with a scale based on 187 ft. He suggested that the Hopewell Indians had made a journey south to study.  s2a
